I'm here

Well this has been a crazy few weeks. I moved to central Arkansas about three weeks ago and let me tell you I have learned a lot. Yes, I have been to central Arkansas plenty before this week, but living here is a different story.
First off I have learned that the Garmin my sister loaned me is my new best friend. So I am making it around fairly well with my new friend. I have also learned that all the ambitious/artsy/domestic plans I had for the summer are a little harder to accomplish than I intended. I have yet to figure out how all you moms out there come home from an 8-5(and sometimes longer) job and still manage to cook, clean, and have enough time to do other things. Everyday when I come home all I want to do is sit on the couch. Whether the day at the office is productive or not I am always tired.

The other big lesson I have learned is this town is a whole different world than where I am from. NEVER leave anything valuable in your car. Me and some friends decided to go to the River Market downtown and watch an outdoor movie they were playing last week. We parked in what looked like a safe parking lot. Without going into too much detail, we returned to my car and the window was shattered. Someone had broken into my car and stolen my purse. That whole situation has been no fun at all.
1. I had to get a new window
2. I had to place a fraud alert on my credit report because my identity can now easily be stolen
3. I had no money for a couple of days because I had no debit card and no bank in town
4. My camera was in the purse, so now I have no camera and I lost all the pictures (about 400) that I didn't upload to my computer.

So needless to say I am learning lots about the differences in a small town and a big city.

On a happier note I have been having lots of fun. There is something to do every night here. I am never bored. This week my company had family night at the Arkansas Travelers game. Clay and I got to go for a free baseball game and a free dinner! I got to meet lots of people that I haven't met yet. My job has been really good so far too. I am learning SO much.

I am making a bad habit. Everyday after work I look forward to shopping somewhere. I am not used to being able to go shopping whenever I want. Even at college I have a limited selection of places to shop. But here we have everything!

Since I have no pictures to post I will post a video of the new camera I have my eye on!

Thanks for reading about my JAUNTS! Next time you stop by I will hopefully have some fun pictures.
Thanks for reading,

The Move

I have been home(SOUTH-east Arkansas) for three and a half weeks. Tomorrow I am moving to Central Arkansas for nine weeks for an internship. It has been really nice to be home, but I am getting really bored. Two summers ago my little brother took over my room. So when I move home I have no where to put my things. Needless to say I have felt a little unsettled for the past three and a half weeks. It's different going from college where we just kinda go with the flow, to home where there are rules and jobs to be done. But I have been doing the best I can to enjoy my family.

I am really excited about the move. I have never lived in an apartment. I have always lived in a dorm room. One place I lived did have a living room, but for the most part I have lived in one room for the last three years. I haven't seen this apartment, the company I am going to work for has arranged everything for me. So I don't have very high expectations, but as long as it's more than one room I will be just fine. There will be a kitchen though! I am SO pumped about that. I have no cooking skills whatsoever, but that's ok right? Let's just say I will be doing a lot of learning the next nine weeks. If you have any easy recipes I need them!

My apartment is fully furnished and when I say fully I mean it. There is dishes, cookware, TVs, coffeemaker, art work, decorations, and even toilet tissue. All I need to bring is clothes. This has made the move a lot less stressful.
So tomorrow will begin my jaunt as an intern in the city. This shall be interesting. I'll keep ya posted.
And I told ya I would try not to write a post without a picture. This is pretty much the only thing I know about my apartment.
